Kitchen Renovation Final Walkthrough and Punch List

Test cabinets, plumbing, electrical, appliances, finishes and documentation before closing the project.

A final walkthrough is a structured inspection, not a quick look at whether the room is attractive.

Test function

  • Open every door and drawer; check adjustment and collision.
  • Run sink, faucet, dishwasher and refrigerator water; inspect for leaks.
  • Test lights, switches, receptacles and controls as permitted.
  • Run ventilation and verify exterior discharge where applicable.
  • Check appliance operation, clearances and manuals.

Inspect finishes in normal light

Review paint, caulk, grout, seams, edge profiles, flooring transitions, trim and touch-ups. Mark deficiencies clearly and agree on how they will be corrected.

Collect the project file

Keep contracts, paid invoices, permits, inspection results, warranties, appliance documents, cabinet drawings, paint formulas, spare tile and product care instructions.

Close safely

Confirm all temporary wiring, barriers and protective coverings are removed, smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms are restored where affected and the site is clean. Follow local contract and lien rules before final payment.
